The final riffs of W:O:A 2016 have just faded, but there‘s one thing that needs to be said: We want to thank each and everyone of you for your extraordinary support. Without you Metalheads out there all this would not be possible at all – you are awesome!
Yesterday we already announced the confirmations for the 2017 edition of the festival: Amon Amarth, Avantasia, Paradise Lost, Powerwolf, Mayhem, Heaven Shall Burn and many more. And of course you know what‘s next: The info about the pre-sale for W:O:A 2017!
IMPORTANT: We have to implement some changes for next year‘s event because of part experiences and the current situation.
In recent times, we all had to take in the fact that the weather is becoming more extreme and unsteady. That not only had a significant impact on W:O:A, but on a lot of others festivals as well. In addition to that there was an increase in vehicles coming to Wacken and rising numbers of oversized tents, even though the number of Metalheads stayed constant. This is why we had to open up six additional areas with more than 20 hectare to deal with the incoming vehicles. This includes a increase in heavy vehicles and trailers, which are harming the quality of the ground especially under bad weather conditions. This in turn makes pathways unusable for others and slows down the proceedings considerably while filling the grounds. To take care of this problem, routes will have to be fortified. This is why we reserve – for the benefit of all visitors – to add additional fees for all heavy vehicles and trailers at the next festival.
For reasons explained above, we also have to raise the ticket price for W:O:A 2017.
In turn, we will include several services in the ticket price:
- In 2017, Metalheads will be allowed to come to the W:O:A already on Monday at 3pm without having to pay early bird fees. With this we aim to distribute the incoming guests more evenly over all three days (Monday to Wednesday), which in turn should decrease the risk of traffic jams and waiting times. (In 2016, a fee of 30€ per person was charged on Monday, 20€ on Tuesday.)
- The use of the showers in shower camps S1-S6 and all water-flushed toilets will be free. (To compare: A pass for shower and WC cost 14€ in 2016.)
The pre-sale for 2017 starts at midnight from Sunday, August 7th to Monday, August 8th, exclusively on www.metaltix.com.
First tickets on sale are, as always, the X-Mas Tickets which are limited to 10.000. The cost of an X-Mas Ticket is 210€ incl. fees, excl. shipping. It does contain a free W:O:A X-Mas T-Shirt. Per sale only two X-Mas Tickets will be available.
The regular 3-day-all-in tickets cost 220€ incl. fees, excl. shipping. Per sale, a maximum of five regular tickets will be available.
With your ticket you can also purchase the W:O:A 2017 Special Shirt for 16,99€ as part of a bundle.
Please note: The shipment of tickets and shirts will not start before the end of August! Please contact Metaltix only if absolutely necessary, because otherwise all processes will be slowed down!
