off to Austria we go!
Metal fans can finally look forward to something like a festival summer 2021: the Area 53 festival in Leoben is the first of its kind which will open doors in mid-July. After almost two years of pandemic silence, the village in Styria will welcome festival pilgrims from Friday, 16th of July till Saturday, 17th of July and will bring back the foreign view of frisky people with camping
luggage, barbecue equipment and canned beer.
For the resurrection of the open-air culture a lot of notable bands were pledged, amongst them Munich’s successful rockers of Eisbrecher, Epica, Subway to Sally, Hämatom, J.B.O., Kissin´ Dynamite or Insomnium. “Miracles happen! We can take place in 2021, indeed in a bit different form, with 2 complete show days (Friday 16th of July and Saturday 17th of July) and 20 acts, one travel- and warm up day at Thursday 15th of July and everything else which belongs to a festival“, so the organizers say. “At the arrival day there is a party at Tenne, the venue at the festival ground.
Loud music, party and finally come together with friends and enjoy an Open-Air. We have done everything to make you feel comfortable and that you can spend a great weekend here with us in Styria.“
Beside the almost three days of the Open-Air, Styria around Leoben, which is the second biggest city of the federal state, has a lot of touristic values and suits perfect, to spend a few more days after the Festival. For the Festival itself a corona conform concept was developed. Who wants to enter
the Area has to be vaccinated, tested or recovered. Tests must not be older than 48h and have to be shown at the entrance.
“Please make sure that you have your proofs ready to show at the entrance to ensure a smoothly process of the event.“ so the appeal of the organizers.
